What is it?

Alwoodley Repair Café is a friendly, volunteer-led space where you can bring broken or faulty items and get help to fix them.

Our skilled volunteers will work with you to repair your items where possible. It is about learning, sharing skills and reducing waste.

What can be repaired?

We aim to help with a wide range of everyday items, including:

  • Small household electrical items
  • Lamps and small appliances
  • Clothing and textiles
  • Toys and basic household goods

If you are unsure, just bring it along and we will take a look.

Why does it matter?

Save money
Repairing items is often much cheaper than replacing them.

Reduce waste
Too many items go to landfill when they could be repaired. We help cut waste and protect the environment.

Learn new skills
Work alongside our volunteers and pick up useful repair skills.

Build community
Meet local people, have a chat and be part of something positive in your area.

How does it work?

  1. Bring your item along
  2. Our volunteers assess it with you
  3. We try to fix it together
  4. If it can’t be repaired, we will explain why

Repairs are free, though donations are welcome to support the project.

Who runs it?

Alwoodley Repair Café is run by local volunteers working to create a more sustainable future.
